Job Description:

The Special Effects Makeup Artist in Lusail, Qatar, is responsible for transforming actors and performers through advanced makeup techniques for film, television, theater, and themed events. This role requires mastery in creating prosthetics, simulated injuries, aging effects, fantastical creatures, and other visual transformations to support storytelling and character development.

The artist collaborates with directors, costume designers, and production teams to ensure makeup aligns with the overall creative vision and performs well under lighting and camera conditions. Duties include sculpting and applying prosthetics, using airbrushing and molding tools, managing makeup continuity, and ensuring actor safety during application and removal. They may also contribute to pre-production planning by designing character looks and conducting test makeups.

This role is central to Qatar’s expanding entertainment and media industry, contributing visually impactful work that enhances performance and production quality.

Job Requirement:

Education: Diploma or certification in Makeup Artistry, Special Effects, or a related field.

Experience: 3–5 years in film, theater, or TV production; portfolio of SFX work required.

Skills:

Proficiency in prosthetics, latex appliances, and theatrical makeup techniques.

Skilled in sculpting, molding, and airbrush application.

Ability to interpret scripts and mood boards for visual character design.

Strong understanding of skin safety, hygiene, and removal techniques.

Attention to detail and continuity management.

Language: English required; Arabic is an advantage.

Other Requirements:

Availability for long shoots, night work, or location-based productions.

Creativity and adaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Up-to-date knowledge of materials, adhesives, and SFX trends.
