Job Description:

The Bacteriology Expert specializes in the study of bacteria and their role in disease, ecology, and industrial processes. This role is central to projects involving bacterial pathogenesis, vaccine development, biofilm studies, and antibiotic resistance. The expert works in both clinical and research contexts, conducting in-depth bacteriological assays, identifying bacterial strains, and supporting diagnostic innovation or therapeutic research.

Key responsibilities include preparing bacterial cultures, running biochemical tests, performing molecular identification (16S rRNA sequencing), and assessing bacterial growth under various conditions. The expert advises on bacterial contamination control, assists in developing antibacterial agents, and contributes to public health surveillance or biosecurity programs. This role also involves mentoring junior staff, publishing scientific findings, and ensuring compliance with biosafety regulations.

This is a high-impact role in both academic and applied biotech environments, supporting advancements in human health, agriculture, and industrial biotechnology.

Job Requirement:

Applicants must have a master’s or PhD in bacteriology, microbiology, or biomedical sciences, with 5–8 years of specialized experience in bacterial research or diagnostics. Strong command of microbiological and molecular techniques such as Gram staining, ELISA, antibiotic susceptibility testing, and DNA sequencing is essential. Familiarity with clinical microbiology workflows and laboratory information systems (LIS) is a plus. Candidates should be detail-oriented, capable of managing laboratory workflows, and fluent in English. Experience with ISO or CAP-accredited labs is an asset.
