Job Description:
The Clinical Biochemistry Technologist performs diagnostic tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to detect and monitor medical conditions. Working in hospital or diagnostic labs, the technologist operates automated analyzers, performs quality control checks, and ensures accurate and timely reporting of test results to physicians and healthcare providers.
Primary responsibilities include conducting tests for blood glucose, cholesterol, enzymes, electrolytes, hormones, and biomarkers, ensuring sample integrity, managing reagent inventory, and complying with clinical laboratory accreditation standards such as ISO 15189 or CAP. The technologist also participates in proficiency testing and supports troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
This role is critical to clinical diagnostics and patient care, requiring a strong commitment to precision, reliability, and laboratory best practices.
Job Requirement:
Candidates must hold a degree in medical laboratory sciences, clinical biochemistry, or a related field with 4–7 years of experience in a clinical diagnostics laboratory. MOH/DHA/HAAD licensing is preferred. Familiarity with analyzers (e.g., Roche, Beckman Coulter), laboratory information systems (LIS), and clinical quality control protocols is required. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and fluency in English are essential.
