Job Description:
We are looking for an expert Sommelier or Beverage Pairing Specialist to join our luxury hospitality team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will enhance the guest dining experience by expertly recommending beverage pairings that complement the cuisine, from wines to spirits and specialty drinks. You will curate the beverage menu, conduct tastings, and educate guests and staff about beverage profiles and pairings.
Your responsibilities include maintaining an up-to-date beverage list, sourcing high-quality wines and other drinks, and collaborating with chefs to develop pairing suggestions that elevate the menu. You will ensure proper storage and presentation standards and handle supplier relationships. This role demands a refined palate, deep knowledge of international beverages, and excellent guest communication skills.
You will also train restaurant staff to enhance service quality and contribute to special events like wine tastings and pairing dinners. A passion for hospitality and attention to detail are essential to succeed in this fast-paced, guest-facing role.
Job Requirement:
Candidates should hold advanced certifications such as WSET Level 3 or higher, with significant experience as a Sommelier or Beverage Pairing Expert. Expertise in global beverage varieties, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage diverse clientele are essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills and be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
