Job Description:

The Ceramics Kiln Technician in Dubai is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of kilns used in the firing and heat treatment of ceramic products. This role ensures that ceramic items such as tiles, pottery, insulators, or advanced technical ceramics are fired correctly to meet precise quality and durability standards. The technician works closely with production and quality teams to maintain optimal kiln performance and product consistency.

Daily duties include loading and unloading kiln shelves with ceramic pieces, setting firing schedules according to material specifications, and controlling kiln temperature, atmosphere, and ramp rates. The technician monitors the firing process to detect abnormalities or deviations and adjusts parameters accordingly. Maintenance tasks involve inspecting kiln components, repairing or replacing heating elements, thermocouples, and ensuring proper insulation and ventilation of the kiln.

The technician is responsible for keeping detailed records of firing cycles, temperature profiles, and any issues encountered during operation. Adherence to safety standards is critical due to the high temperatures and electrical equipment involved. The Ceramics Kiln Technician may also assist with kiln calibration, continuous improvement projects, and training junior staff on kiln safety and operation.

Job Requirement:

Candidates should have a technical diploma or certification in ceramics technology, materials engineering, or industrial operations. At least 2–4 years of experience in kiln operation, ceramics firing, or heat treatment is preferred. Knowledge of kiln types such as electric, gas, or hybrid kilns and familiarity with firing cycles for various ceramic materials is essential. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are required to maintain kiln equipment. Attention to detail, ability to monitor precise temperature controls, and a safety-conscious attitude are critical. Good communication and record-keeping skills are important for coordinating with production and quality teams. Basic computer literacy for logging process data is also advantageous.
