Job Description:
The Coating Technician in Al Ain is tasked with preparing and applying specialized coatings to surfaces including metals, plastics, and industrial components to improve durability, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appeal. Responsibilities include interpreting coating specifications, preparing surfaces using techniques like blasting, sanding, or chemical treatments, and applying coatings via methods such as spraying, dipping, or brushing. The technician must monitor environmental conditions like temperature and humidity to ensure proper curing and adherence of coatings. Maintaining accurate records of coating batches, application methods, and thickness measurements is crucial to ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards. The role requires collaboration with engineers, quality assurance teams, and production supervisors to align coating work with production timelines. The technician is also responsible for the calibration and upkeep of coating equipment, identifying surface defects, and implementing corrective measures. The position may involve working in production lines, clean rooms, or high-temperature environments, often requiring protective gear and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Job Requirement:
Applicants should have a high school diploma or technical training in coatings technology, materials engineering, or a related field. At least 2 years of practical experience in industrial or commercial coating applications is preferred. Familiarity with coating systems such as epoxy, polyurethane, ceramic, and powder coatings is essential. Skills in using tools like spray guns, viscosity cups, and thickness gauges are required. Knowledge of health and safety standards related to hazardous chemicals, ventilation, and personal protective equipment is critical. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to read technical specifications and interpret work instructions are necessary. Certification from bodies such as NACE or SSPC in coatings or surface preparation is a plus. Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing production demands is expected.
