Job Description:
The Deep Borehole Driller is responsible for operating drilling rigs to create deep boreholes for geological exploration, water wells, or geothermal systems. The role entails setting up drill sites, assembling drill strings, monitoring drill parameters, and sampling subsurface materials. Operators adjust drilling techniques based on formation conditions and ensure borehole integrity throughout operations. Additional tasks include operating mud pumps, handling casing, and recording borehole data. The driller collaborates with engineers and geologists to ensure boreholes are positioned and drilled per technical specifications. Equipment inspections, lubrication, and maintenance are routine duties. Safety and environmental regulations must be strictly followed. The position may involve long shifts and remote work in extreme weather.
Job Requirement:
A vocational certificate or diploma in drilling operations or mechanical technology is preferred. A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in deep drilling operations is essential. Knowledge of rotary and percussion drilling techniques, borehole stabilization, and sampling protocols is crucial. Candidates should be physically fit, safety-oriented, and capable of working in remote or challenging environments.
