Job Description:
The Facility Maintenance Helper supports the day-to-day upkeep and repair of retail store infrastructure, ensuring that the premises remain safe, clean, and operational. This role includes assisting in basic maintenance tasks such as fixing lighting fixtures, unclogging drains, adjusting shelving, and replacing damaged tiles or ceiling panels. The helper works under the supervision of a senior technician or facility manager and may handle tools such as drills, screwdrivers, paint rollers, and cleaning equipment. Tasks also involve performing preventive maintenance rounds, reporting issues like water leaks or faulty HVAC systems, and supporting external contractors during larger repair jobs. The helper may transport equipment and materials across the store or mall premises and help in setting up promotional fixtures or dismantling temporary displays. Routine duties include checking emergency exits, cleaning maintenance rooms, and ensuring tools are properly stored and maintained. The role demands hands-on work, a basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, or carpentry tasks, and the ability to follow safety guidelines.
