Job Description: The Mechanical Engineer in the Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery industry in Dubai, UAE, plays a vital role in designing, analyzing, and overseeing mechanical systems and components for ships and maritime equipment. The primary duties and responsibilities may include: Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems, equipment, and components for ships, including propulsion systems, HVAC systems, piping systems, and auxiliary machinery. Technical Drawings and Specifications: Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements. Analysis and Simulation: Conduct engineering analysis and simulations to evaluate the performance, strength, and efficiency of mechanical systems, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for mechanical components based on factors such as strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness. Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout the manufacturing and assembly processes, conducting inspections and testing as necessary. Project Management: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including naval architects, electrical engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into shipbuilding projects. Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to production teams during the manufacturing and installation of mechanical systems, addressing any engineering challenges or issues that arise. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that mechanical systems and components meet safety regulations, industry standards, and classification society requirements. Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in shipbuilding technology, mechanical engineering principles, and industry trends, applying innovative solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation, communicating effectively with stakeholders and clients.

Job Requirement: Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the shipbuilding or maritime industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science. Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software for 2D and 3D modeling. Familiarity with shipbuilding processes, marine equipment, and maritime regulations. Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. Knowledge of quality assurance processes and techniques. Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to shipbuilding. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
