Job Description: The Rigger in the Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery industry in Dubai UAE, is responsible for the safe and efficient lifting, moving, and securing of heavy equipment and materials on ships and marine vessels. The primary duties and responsibilities may include: Rigging Operations: Set up and dismantle rigging equipment, including ropes, slings, chains, and pulleys, to lift and move heavy objects. Load Handling: Attach and secure loads to lifting devices, ensuring proper balance and weight distribution for safe transportation. Equipment Inspection: Inspect rigging equipment regularly to identify any signs of wear, damage, or defects, and report any issues for maintenance or replacement. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to rigging standards and procedures. Communication: Coordinate and communicate with crane operators, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient rigging operations. Signal Communication: Use hand signals, radio communication, or other designated methods to communicate instructions to crane operators during lifting operations. Load Calculations: Calculate load weights, center of gravity, and lifting capacities to determine the appropriate rigging techniques and equipment needed. Risk Assessment: Assess the surrounding environment and conditions for potential hazards and implement necessary safety precautions. Material Handling: Assist in the movement and positioning of materials and equipment, both on and off the ship, using appropriate rigging techniques. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of rigging operations, including load weights, rigging configurations, and safety inspections.

Job Requirement: Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Previous experience as a rigger, preferably in the shipbuilding or marine industry. Knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety practices. Familiarity with different types of lifting devices, slings, and hooks. Ability to interpret rigging plans, load charts, and lifting specifications. Understanding of weight calculations, center of gravity, and load balance. Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy loads and work in various weather conditions. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols. Valid certification in rigging or related field is advantageous.
