Job Description:
The Street Sweeper, or Roadway Cleaning Operator, is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public roadways, sidewalks, and municipal spaces. Primary duties include sweeping debris manually or operating mechanical sweepers to clean roads, curbs, parking lots, and pedestrian areas. Workers collect and remove trash, leaves, and other litter, ensuring the environment is clean, safe, and visually appealing. They may also handle cleaning tools such as brooms, blowers, and high-pressure washers. The position includes monitoring for hazards such as broken glass or oil spills and reporting them to supervisors. In some cases, workers are involved in minor street maintenance tasks or event cleanup. This outdoor role requires physical endurance and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
