Job Description: Summary: The Structural Engineer position in Dubai, UAE, within the Engineering & Manufacturing industry, involves designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure their stability, safety, and durability. Key Responsibilities: Structural design: Design and develop structural systems for various projects, including buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and infrastructure. Utilize engineering principles, codes, and software tools to create safe and efficient structural designs. Structural analysis: Perform structural analysis using advanced engineering software and techniques to evaluate the integrity and stability of structures. Assess loads, stresses, and deformations to ensure structural adequacy and compliance with design codes. Material selection and specification: Select appropriate construction materials based on project requirements, structural design, and environmental factors. Specify material properties, dimensions, and construction methods to achieve optimal structural performance. Construction supervision: Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Collaborate with contractors and site engineers to address structural challenges, resolve construction issues, and ensure the successful execution of projects. Project coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers from other disciplines, and project stakeholders to integrate structural design with overall project requirements. Collaborate on multidisciplinary teams to ensure design coordination and successful project outcomes. Structural inspection and assessment: Conduct structural inspections, condition assessments, and forensic investigations to evaluate existing structures. Identify and recommend necessary repairs, retrofits, or strengthening measures to enhance structural integrity and extend the lifespan of the structures. Job Requirement: Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering or a related field. Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and design standards. Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro. Familiarity with construction materials, construction techniques, and industry best practices. Understanding of relevant building codes and regulations, such as UAE Building Codes and International Building Codes. Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess structural behavior and propose effective design solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Experience with structural design software and familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is advantageous. Professional certifications in structural engineering, such as Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng), are beneficial.
