Job Description:
The Aisle Stocking Assistant is responsible for maintaining fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing aisles in retail stores across Ottawa. This role ensures that products are consistently replenished from the stockroom to the sales floor, following store layout guidelines and planograms. The Assistant monitors inventory levels, rotates stock to prevent spoilage or damage, and ensures that items are easy for customers to access.
Key duties include receiving deliveries, verifying product quantities, and assisting with organizing and labeling merchandise. The Aisle Stocking Assistant also checks for damaged or expired goods, reports discrepancies to supervisors, and supports seasonal or promotional product setups. Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the aisles is essential to provide a pleasant and secure shopping environment for customers.
This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Collaboration with backroom staff, stockroom supervisors, and sales associates ensures that shelves are replenished promptly and stores operate smoothly. Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous retail, stockroom, or grocery experience preferred but not mandatory.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Attention to detail for proper stock rotation and placement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of inventory procedures and retail operations.
Good communication skills for collaborating with colleagues.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry products up to 25 kg, stand for long periods, bend, and reach high shelves.
