Job Description:

The Backstock Room Worker plays a crucial role in supporting retail operations by maintaining an organized and well-stocked backroom in Montreal stores. This role involves receiving deliveries, sorting merchandise, labeling items, and ensuring that products are stored safely and efficiently. The worker is responsible for preparing stock to replenish shelves on the sales floor, ensuring that items are rotated properly to prevent damage or expiry.

Key responsibilities include assisting in inventory counts, reporting discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing stock. The Backstock Room Worker collaborates closely with stockroom supervisors, warehouse staff, and sales floor teams to ensure seamless product availability. Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the backstock area is essential, including adherence to occupational health and safety standards and proper handling of equipment and merchandise.

Job Requirement:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Previous experience in retail, warehouse, or stockroom work preferred; entry-level applicants with strong organizational skills considered.

Skills:

Attention to detail for accurate stock handling.

Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.

Basic understanding of inventory tracking and stock rotation.

Physical stamina and reliability.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move items up to 25 kg, stand for extended periods, and navigate shelves and storage areas.

Other Requirements:

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods.

Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.

Willingness to assist with repetitive or physically demanding tasks.

Basic knowledge of warehouse or POS systems is an advantage.
