Job Description:
The Childcare Provider is responsible for offering attentive, safe, and nurturing care to children in private households across Edmonton. This role includes supervising daily routines, preparing meals and snacks, organizing age-appropriate activities, helping with homework, and ensuring a secure and stimulating environment for children's physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
The provider may assist in morning routines, school drop-offs and pick-ups, evening care, and bedtime preparation. Additional duties may include light housekeeping related to the children, such as laundry, cleaning toys, and tidying play areas. Clear communication with parents or guardians is essential to align on expectations, routines, and any changes in behavior or health.
This role demands patience, responsibility, and a genuine interest in child welfare. The provider should be capable of responding calmly in emergencies and supporting children’s growth through positive reinforcement and structured activities.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma required; early childhood education or CPR/first aid certification is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in childcare, babysitting, or nanny roles.
Skills:
Strong understanding of child development and safety.
Ability to engage children in creative and educational activities.
Basic cooking and housekeeping skills related to childcare.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Trustworthy, nurturing, and emotionally mature.
Language: Good verbal English; knowledge of French or other languages is a plus.

Physically able to participate in active play and handle young children.
Flexible schedule, including availability on evenings or weekends.
Valid driver’s license is an asset for school transport duties.
