Job Description:
The Equipment Handling Technician in Montreal plays a vital role in maintaining and operating specialized machinery used in the production, processing, and packaging of food and beverage products. The technician is responsible for preparing, inspecting, adjusting, and maintaining various types of equipment to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and productivity.
Core responsibilities include installing and setting up processing and packaging equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs, conducting safety checks, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime. The technician also assists with equipment calibration, logs technical performance data, and works closely with production supervisors to align equipment operations with daily output targets.
This role demands technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. The Equipment Handling Technician supports continuous production in a hygienic environment by adhering to strict food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma required; technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Experience: 2–3 years of experience in a food or beverage manufacturing facility, preferably in equipment handling or maintenance roles.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of food-grade machinery and safety protocols
Ability to read technical manuals and interpret schematics
Proficient in using hand and power tools
Familiarity with maintenance scheduling software is a plus
Language: Basic English or French communication skills
