Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forensic Scientist to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. As a Forensic Scientist in the science and pharmaceutical industry, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting physical evidence to support criminal investigations and legal proceedings. Your expertise in forensic science techniques, laboratory analysis, and attention to detail will contribute to the delivery of accurate and reliable forensic findings. Responsibilities: Perform analysis and examination of physical evidence, such as DNA, fingerprints, fibers, and other trace materials, using advanced forensic techniques and laboratory equipment. Interpret and document forensic findings, preparing detailed reports and expert testimonies for court presentations. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, investigators, and legal professionals to provide expert advice and support during criminal investigations and trials. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and calibration. Stay updated with advancements in forensic science methodologies and techniques, contributing to the development of best practices and quality standards.
Job Requirement: Bachelor's degree or higher in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Advanced degree (M.Sc., Ph.D., or equivalent) is preferred. Proven experience as a Forensic Scientist, preferably in the science and pharmaceutical industry. Strong knowledge of forensic science principles, techniques, and laboratory analysis. Familiarity with legal procedures and regulations related to forensic evidence. Proficiency in using forensic laboratory instruments and software. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
