Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled Tower Crane Rigger to join our team in Surrey, Canada. As a Tower Crane Rigger in the shipbuilding and ship machinery industry, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently rigging loads, operating tower cranes, and assisting in the movement of heavy equipment and materials. Your expertise in rigging techniques, knowledge of safety procedures, and ability to work effectively in a team will contribute to the success of our projects. Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently rig loads using appropriate equipment, techniques, and signals. Operate tower cranes to lift, move, and position heavy equipment and materials. Inspect rigging equipment for any damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of tower cranes. Collaborate with crane operators and other team members to ensure safe and accurate movement of loads. Follow safety protocols and adhere to applicable regulations and industry standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Communicate effectively with team members using hand signals and radio communication. Perform basic maintenance tasks on rigging equipment. Continuously update knowledge and skills in rigging techniques and tower crane operation.
Job Requirement: Previous experience as a Tower Crane Rigger or similar role, preferably in the shipbuilding industry. Proficient in rigging techniques, including knowledge of various slings, shackles, and rigging hardware. Familiarity with tower crane operation and control systems. Ability to read and interpret rigging plans and lift charts. Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices related to rigging and crane operations. Physical stamina and ability to work at heights. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations related to rigging and crane operations. Valid certifications or licenses related to rigging and crane operations are an asset.
