Job Description: We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Welders & Solderers to join our team in Halifax, Canada. As a Welder & Solderer in the shipbuilding and ship machinery industry, you will be responsible for performing welding and soldering tasks to construct, repair, and maintain various components and structures on ships. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the quality and safety of our maritime operations. Responsibilities: Welding and Soldering: Perform various welding and soldering techniques, including MIG, TIG, arc, and brazing, to join metal components and structures according to specifications and industry standards. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements and procedures. Fabrication and Repair: Fabricate and repair metal structures, ship components, piping systems, and machinery using appropriate welding and soldering techniques. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, and following safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Quality Control: Ensure the quality and integrity of welds and soldered joints, conducting visual inspections and performing non-destructive tests as required. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot welding and soldering equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to supervisors for timely repair or replacement. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers, fabricators, and shipbuilders, to ensure the seamless execution of welding and soldering projects. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, equipment usage, and project progress, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on new welding techniques, technologies, and industry best practices through training and professional development opportunities. Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and policies, actively participating in safety meetings and contributing to a culture of safety awareness and compliance.

Job Requirement: Welding and Soldering Experience: Previous experience as a welder and solderer, preferably in shipbuilding or a related industry. Welding Certification: Valid welding certifications (e.g., CWB, AWS) demonstrating proficiency in relevant welding processes and techniques. Technical Skills: Proficiency in various welding and soldering techniques, including MIG, TIG, arc, and brazing, with the ability to produce high-quality welds and soldered joints. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand project requirements. Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to workplace safety, following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to produce accurate welds, adhere to specifications, and maintain quality standards. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. Teamwork: Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of welding projects. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, timelines, and work environments. Valid Certification: Valid certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Confined Space Entry, as required for the job.
