We are hiring an inquisitive and solution-oriented Applied Physics Specialist for our innovation and development team in Cologne. This role bridges fundamental science with real-world applications, involving projects across electronics, optics, acoustics, and material technologies.
You will apply the principles of physics to design, analyze, and test new technologies, components, and systems. This includes using simulations, creating prototypes, and supporting engineering teams with insights rooted in physical behavior and theoretical frameworks.
You’ll play a vital role in solving complex technical challenges, from improving sensor accuracy to enhancing energy efficiency or structural performance. Cross-functional collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving will be key aspects of your day-to-day work.
Job Requirement:
Master’s degree in Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline. Minimum 4–8 years of relevant experience in applied research or product development is required.
Proficiency with simulation tools like COMSOL, MATLAB, or ANSYS is essential. Hands-on experience with experimental testing, data analysis, and technical reporting is expected.
Strong scientific curiosity, teamwork, and ability to translate theory into practice are vital.
