Job Description:

We are hiring a skilled Flat Knitting Machine Operator to join our textile manufacturing team in Berlin. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining computerized flat knitting machines used in the production of garments, panels, and technical fabrics. You will play a key role in producing intricate patterns and ensuring each knitted piece meets design and quality specifications.

Daily responsibilities include setting up machines with the correct yarn types, configuring machine programs based on pattern requirements, and overseeing the knitting process to detect and correct any errors such as dropped stitches or yarn tension problems. You will be expected to perform routine machine maintenance, replace needles and sinkers when necessary, and maintain accurate production records.

The ideal candidate will be attentive to detail and quality, capable of managing multiple machines, and able to react quickly to resolve knitting issues. Working closely with designers and production leads, you’ll ensure each product reflects the desired technical and aesthetic outcomes. If you have experience in precision knitting and are passionate about textile innovation, we welcome your application for this exciting opportunity in Berlin.

Job Requirement:

Applicants must have completed technical or vocational training in textiles or machine operations. A minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating flat knitting machines, particularly computerized systems, is essential. Experience with brands like Stoll or Shima Seiki is highly desirable.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of different knit structures, yarn behavior, and machine calibration. The ability to follow complex design patterns and convert them into machine programming instructions is crucial. Manual dexterity, patience, and visual precision are key traits for success in this position.

Familiarity with basic troubleshooting, maintenance of knitting equipment, and a commitment to high production standards are required. Candidates must be physically fit, capable of standing for long periods, and able to work in a team-oriented environment. Basic German or English language skills will be considered an asset, along with a proactive approach to quality control and productivity.
