Job Description:

We are hiring a Scale-up Engineer in Hamburg to bridge the gap between laboratory development and full-scale manufacturing. You will be responsible for scaling chemical, biological, or pharmaceutical processes from pilot to commercial production while maintaining product quality, process efficiency, and safety standards.

You will collaborate closely with R&D scientists, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, and regulatory teams. Your tasks will include process modeling, equipment specification, validation protocols, and risk assessments. You'll also troubleshoot scale-related challenges and lead optimization initiatives for throughput and cost-effectiveness.

This role is critical to commercializing innovations effectively, ensuring that every product goes from bench to market smoothly. If you are technically skilled, detail-oriented, and thrive in cross-disciplinary settings, we want to hear from you.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Biotechnology

  • 3–6 years of experience in process scale-up or technology transfer

  • Solid knowledge of scale-up theory, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer

  • Experience in biopharma, chemical manufacturing, or food tech is an advantage

  • Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and other regulatory environments

  • Proficient in process modeling tools like Aspen Plus, MATLAB, or COMSOL

  • Ability to design and execute validation protocols

  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English; German language is a plus

  • Strong teamwork mindset and attention to safety and detail
