Job Description:
We are hiring a knowledgeable and environmentally focused Waste Management Engineer for our Hamburg-based sustainability division. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient handling, treatment, and disposal of industrial, hazardous, and municipal waste in compliance with local and global environmental standards.
Your responsibilities will include designing waste treatment systems, evaluating environmental risks, and developing recycling and waste minimization strategies. You’ll analyze waste streams, oversee waste audit programs, and ensure safe storage and transportation of materials.
The role requires coordination with regulatory authorities, vendors, and internal EHS teams to maintain permits, generate compliance reports, and ensure environmentally sound disposal practices. You'll also support new infrastructure projects with impact assessments and lifecycle waste planning.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 4–8 years of experience in waste management or environmental compliance.
Knowledge of waste classification, hazardous material handling, ISO 14001, and relevant EU waste regulations is required. Familiarity with tools such as HAZOP, LCA software, and risk assessment methodologies is beneficial.
Candidates should possess excellent project coordination skills, report writing proficiency, and a strong sense of responsibility toward environmental stewardship.
