Job Description:
The Academic Writing Editor in Mahboula is responsible for polishing scholarly documents, ensuring they meet academic and linguistic standards for publication or submission. This role entails editing content for clarity, coherence, grammatical accuracy, logical progression, and adherence to academic conventions. The editor works on a variety of documents including research papers, conference proceedings, books, and journal articles.
The position requires collaboration with academic authors, peer reviewers, and publishing houses to refine drafts and prepare them for final submission or publication. Responsibilities include identifying inconsistencies, correcting sentence structures, ensuring proper citation style, and advising on structure and content flow. The Academic Writing Editor must be meticulous, well-versed in academic norms, and capable of handling content across multiple disciplines.
Job Requirement:
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant academic discipline.
At least 5 years of academic editing experience.
Expertise in scholarly language, structure, and referencing styles.
Strong command of English grammar, syntax, and scholarly tone.
Experience working with peer-reviewed journals and academic presses.
Ability to edit content without distorting academic meaning or argument.
Knowledge of academic publishing standards and ethical guidelines.
Familiarity with publishing tools and style guides such as APA, MLA, and Chicago.
Detail-oriented and able to meet strict editorial deadlines.
Excellent written communication and feedback-giving skills.
