The Car Interior Upholstery Technician in Christchurch specializes in refurbishing and installing vehicle interior materials such as seats, carpets, roof linings, and door panels. Working in auto customization shops, detailing facilities, or manufacturer service centers, this technician handles a variety of textile, leather, and synthetic materials to restore or enhance interior aesthetics. Tasks include removing worn or damaged upholstery, cutting and stitching new fabric, re-padding seats, and installing foam, vinyl, or leather covers using pneumatic tools, adhesives, or staples. The technician also repairs broken springs, seat frames, and recliner mechanisms. Precision pattern-cutting, color matching, and seam alignment are key to delivering a high-quality finish. The role often involves custom upholstery work, where designs may need to be created or modified to meet specific client needs.
