Job Description:
The CNC Machine Operator in Hamilton operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce metal or plastic components for manufacturing and assembly. Operators must follow technical specifications, machine codes (G-code), and drawings to fabricate precision parts across various industrial sectors.
Primary responsibilities include loading raw materials into CNC machines, aligning workpieces, selecting and installing tools, and initiating machining cycles. Operators monitor machine performance, check tool wear, and conduct part inspections using precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). They must also troubleshoot minor faults and perform routine maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Operators are expected to maintain part consistency through in-process checks, record production data, and follow safety and cleanliness standards. The role demands proficiency in interpreting 2D/3D drawings, adjusting machine offsets, and achieving production goals under minimal supervision.
Job Requirement:
Education: Certificate in CNC operations, mechanical trades, or manufacturing technology.
Experience: At least 2 years of CNC operating experience, including multi-axis machines.
Skills: CNC setup and programming, technical drawing interpretation, quality control inspection, and basic machine maintenance.
