Job Description:
The Compaction Equipment Operator in Wellington is responsible for operating heavy machinery used to compress soil, asphalt, or other materials to meet construction and engineering specifications. This role plays a critical part in road building, foundation preparation, and general infrastructure projects. The operator uses compactors such as smooth drum rollers, padfoot rollers, and pneumatic tire rollers to ensure proper density and stability of surfaces. The position involves reviewing compaction plans, understanding soil conditions, and adjusting machine settings to achieve optimal results. Safety is paramount, and the operator must consistently adhere to health and safety standards while working in active construction zones. Daily tasks include pre-operation inspections, identifying mechanical issues, reporting maintenance needs, and assisting with basic machine servicing. Job Requirement:
