The CNC Specialist in Auckland is a skilled technician responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to manufacture parts with high precision. The specialist works with complex technical drawings and uses CAD/CAM software to generate machine code that guides machining operations. This role is essential in industries like aerospace, automotive, medical equipment, and custom manufacturing.
Key duties include creating and editing CNC programs, selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, setting machining parameters, and verifying the dimensional accuracy of components through precision measuring instruments. The CNC Specialist collaborates with engineers and production supervisors to optimize part designs for machinability and efficiency.
Additionally, the role involves performing machine troubleshooting, conducting regular maintenance, and ensuring that safety protocols and quality standards (such as ISO or Six Sigma) are strictly followed. The specialist must document operations, maintain production records, and support process improvements.
Job Requirement:
Education: Diploma or advanced certification in CNC programming, mechanical engineering, or precision machining.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in CNC machine programming and multi-axis operations.
