Job Description:

The Concrete Finishing Machine Operator in Hamilton is responsible for operating specialized machines such as ride-on trowels, screed machines, and finishing blades to smooth, compact, and finish concrete surfaces. The operator works on construction slabs, pavements, warehouses, and flooring applications, ensuring the final surface meets desired specifications for flatness, hardness, and texture. Duties include preparing the site for finishing, adjusting machine settings based on surface conditions, and operating the equipment in patterns to achieve consistent finishes. Operators must recognize when to begin finishing based on concrete setting times and adjust blades or passes accordingly. Additional responsibilities include refueling, lubricating, cleaning the machines, and reporting any issues. This position plays a crucial role in achieving quality finishes in large-scale concrete placements across Hamilton's commercial and industrial projects.

Job Requirement:

Candidates should have previous experience in concrete finishing and be proficient in operating powered finishing machines. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with on-the-job training or certification in concrete technology. Strong awareness of concrete curing behavior, surface conditions, and weather effects is important. Physical stamina, eye-hand coordination, and the ability to work in dusty or noisy environments are essential. Familiarity with job safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and teamwork is necessary for success on active job sites.
