Job Description:
The Compressed Air Technician in Wellington is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing compressed air systems across industrial facilities. This includes both fixed and portable air compressors, air dryers, receivers, and distribution networks.
The technician conducts scheduled servicing, such as oil changes, filter replacement, valve adjustments, and air-end inspections. They also respond to breakdowns, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and implement corrective actions. Monitoring air pressure, flow rates, dew points, and condensate drainage are also part of routine duties.
The role involves analyzing system efficiency, identifying air leaks, recommending upgrades or energy-saving modifications, and ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards. The technician maintains detailed service records, coordinates with OEM vendors when required, and ensures safe operations during system interventions.
Given the critical role compressed air plays in industrial production, this position requires a keen sense of urgency, technical skill, and attention to preventive care.
Job Requirement:
Education:
Diploma or trade certification in mechanical, mechatronic, or industrial maintenance
Experience:
3–6 years in compressed air systems or related mechanical service roles
Skills:
Skilled in servicing screw, piston, and rotary compressors
Proficient in using pressure gauges, flow meters, and leak detection tools
Familiar with refrigerant and desiccant air dryers
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
Awareness of energy efficiency and air safety compliance
