Job Description:
We are hiring a dedicated and experienced Estate Couple for a private estate located just outside Barcelona. This live-in role is suited for a professional couple who can collectively manage kitchen duties and outdoor maintenance with high standards. One partner will serve as a household cook, preparing fresh, nutritious meals daily for a small family, while the other will manage the grounds, garden upkeep, and general outdoor repairs.
As the cook, responsibilities will include meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking for daily meals and occasional guests, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and accommodating dietary preferences. The gardener and maintenance partner will care for lawns, hedges, trees, and any outdoor facilities such as patios or pools. Occasional handyman duties such as light repairs, painting, and property maintenance are expected.
This role requires strong communication and a high level of discretion. You will work closely with the household owners but are expected to operate independently and proactively. Job Requirement:
Both individuals must have prior experience working as a domestic couple in a private home or estate. The cook must be skilled in preparing a variety of cuisines, meal planning, and maintaining dietary requirements. Familiarity with food safety standards and the ability to shop locally and seasonally is preferred. Ability to cater to small gatherings or guests is a plus.
The gardening and maintenance partner must have experience with lawn care, irrigation systems, seasonal planting, basic carpentry, and tool use. Knowledge of eco-friendly or sustainable gardening methods is welcome. Experience with outdoor equipment such as trimmers, mowers, or pool systems is desirable.
You must be self-directed, highly trustworthy, and committed to long-term roles. Fluency in Spanish is essential for day-to-day communication; English is an advantage. One member of the couple must have a valid driving license. You must also be physically fit and able to handle outdoor work year-round.
Both candidates will undergo reference and background checks. A respectful, service-minded attitude and a focus on detail are essential to maintaining a welcoming and well-run estate. Private accommodation on the property is provided as part of the role.
