Job Description:

We are hiring a meticulous Garment Care Assistant to join a private household team in Madrid. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the family's wardrobe, ensuring all garments are cleaned, pressed, stored, and handled with care. This includes everyday clothing, formal attire, designer wear, and delicate fabrics.

Duties include sorting garments, identifying cleaning requirements, handwashing delicate items, using professional ironing tools, and ensuring each item is properly folded or hung. You will maintain clothing inventory, prepare outfits upon request, and pack or unpack wardrobes for travel. Special care must be taken with couture garments, linens, and specialty fabrics.

You will also support light sewing or repairs and maintain the laundry area in a clean, efficient condition. The role requires a keen eye for fabric care, respect for privacy, and the ability to handle high-value items confidently and carefully. Experience with wardrobe organization systems or working under a house manager is preferred.

This position offers the chance to work in a formal, detail-focused household with a supportive team. If you are passionate about fine clothing and enjoy structured routines, this is the ideal role.

Job Requirement:

Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in garment care or laundry services, preferably within luxury homes, fashion retail, or boutique hotel environments. Experience working with silks, linens, wool, cashmere, and formal wear is essential.

Candidates should understand garment labels, have knowledge of appropriate cleaning agents, and be skilled in ironing with both traditional and steam equipment. Strong attention to detail is a must. You should be capable of recognizing wear and tear and performing minor repairs when necessary.

Physical fitness is important, as the role requires standing, lifting, and bending for extended periods. The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while following specific wardrobe care instructions is crucial.

Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Basic English is an advantage. Discretion, reliability, and respect for the family's privacy are key characteristics. The ideal candidate will be organized, punctual, and proactive.

References from previous employers will be requested, and a background check will be conducted before hiring. This is a long-term opportunity for someone with a passion for fine garments and private service.
