Job Description:
We are hiring a dedicated and knowledgeable Landscape Gardener to maintain and enhance the beauty of a private estate’s outdoor spaces in Valencia. As a Landscape Gardener, you will be responsible for planting, pruning, fertilizing, mowing, and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns, and garden beds. Your duties will also include operating irrigation systems, maintaining garden equipment, and ensuring the overall health of the estate's landscaping.
This role requires creativity as well as technical gardening knowledge. You will assist with the design and layout of seasonal flowerbeds, suggest improvements to landscape aesthetics, and ensure the grounds remain attractive year-round. Tasks may include lawn care, soil testing, composting, pest control, and cleaning outdoor walkways and patios.
Working closely with the household manager or property owners, you must be able to follow specific design instructions while also working independently. Physical stamina and a passion for horticulture are essential. Job Requirement:
Candidates should have prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or horticulture. A certificate or diploma in landscape design, horticulture, or environmental sciences is preferred but not required. You must be knowledgeable about plant care, seasonal planting schedules, soil conditions, pest management, and basic irrigation systems.
The role requires daily physical activity including lifting, digging, bending, and standing for long periods. You should be comfortable working in different weather conditions throughout the year. Experience with gardening tools and machinery such as mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and tillers is essential.
Good communication skills in Spanish are required to interact with homeowners or supervisors. You must be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing your time effectively when working alone. A strong eye for aesthetics and knowledge of local plant varieties will be beneficial.
A valid driver’s license is preferred, especially if travel between locations is required. Candidates should demonstrate responsibility in handling chemicals such as fertilizers or pesticides, and adhere to safety protocols at all times. Clean references and a background check may be required, especially when working on private estates.
