Job Description:

The Analytical Chemist plays a critical role in laboratory testing, responsible for identifying the chemical composition and structure of substances used in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food safety, environmental monitoring, and materials development. The role includes conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses using instruments such as GC-MS, HPLC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, and atomic absorption spectrometers. The chemist prepares samples, calibrates analytical equipment, interprets data, and prepares detailed technical reports. Additional responsibilities include validating testing methods, maintaining accurate lab records, and ensuring that all protocols comply with international standards like ISO/IEC 17025 or GLP. The Analytical Chemist also participates in troubleshooting analytical methods, supporting R&D and QA/QC teams, and investigating product failures or contamination issues. The role requires a methodical mindset, keen attention to detail, and adherence to laboratory safety protocols. Collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams and external regulatory bodies is often essential, particularly in highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or petrochemicals.

Job Requirement:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering is required, along with 3–5 years of laboratory experience. Proficiency in operating and maintaining advanced analytical instruments, interpreting chromatographic and spectrometric data, and working within regulated environments is essential. Experience in method development and ISO/GLP compliance is a significant advantage.
