Job Description:
The Automation Systems Engineer in Al Ain is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems used in industrial and manufacturing processes. This role includes evaluating existing systems and processes for efficiency and recommending improvements through advanced automation. The engineer works with cross-functional teams to integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and human-machine interfaces (HMI) into operational workflows. Responsibilities involve writing detailed control system documentation, developing logic diagrams, and programming control algorithms to optimize system performance. The engineer is also expected to conduct troubleshooting, provide ongoing technical support, and ensure all automation systems comply with safety and regulatory standards. In collaboration with production teams, the engineer ensures minimal downtime by applying predictive maintenance practices and real-time diagnostics. The role also includes testing and commissioning new systems, managing system upgrades, and training operators on new automated processes. Strong communication is key, as the engineer must coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver integrated solutions tailored to specific industry needs. Familiarity with SCADA systems, robotics, and sensor technologies is essential, as is an understanding of industrial communication protocols.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or control engineering is required, with 3–5 years of experience in industrial automation projects. Candidates must possess strong skills in PLC/DCS programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), system diagnostics, and integration of HMI/SCADA systems. Proficiency in control logic, instrumentation, and industrial network protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) is essential. Experience in commissioning and maintaining automation systems is preferred. Candidates should have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.
