Job Description:
The Automation Control Engineer in Dubai is responsible for designing and implementing automated systems to optimize industrial operations, particularly in manufacturing, logistics, and processing environments. This role involves working with control systems such as PLCs, SCADA, and DCS to develop solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability. The engineer works closely with process engineers, instrumentation teams, and IT departments to develop integrated control strategies. Key responsibilities include creating detailed wiring diagrams, writing control logic, configuring hardware/software for automation systems, and overseeing the commissioning of new control installations. The engineer also performs diagnostics and troubleshooting for system malfunctions, recommends upgrades, and ensures preventative maintenance schedules are in place. Additionally, the role includes generating documentation such as functional design specifications, validation protocols, and maintenance manuals. The engineer must ensure all systems comply with relevant industry standards, cybersecurity protocols, and environmental guidelines. The position often requires working on-site during system testing or rollouts, and collaborating with equipment vendors and third-party integrators.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or automation engineering is required, with 3–6 years of experience in industrial control systems. Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA configuration, and experience with industrial network protocols is essential. Knowledge of system integration, industrial communication (Ethernet/IP, Modbus), and understanding of process instrumentation is required. The candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Prior experience in commissioning and maintaining automated systems is preferred, along with adherence to safety and cybersecurity practices.
