Job Description:

The Aroma Technician is responsible for developing, preparing, and evaluating aroma compounds used in food, beverage, and flavor production. Working in collaboration with product developers and flavor chemists, the technician assists in crafting signature aromas that enhance product appeal. This role is both technical and sensory-focused, requiring precise measurement and creative understanding of scent profiles.

Key responsibilities include preparing aroma samples, maintaining accurate formulation records, weighing and mixing aromatic ingredients, and conducting stability testing under various conditions. The technician must handle aromatic compounds with precision, ensuring each batch maintains chemical integrity and sensory consistency. They use laboratory equipment such as gas chromatographs, mixers, and evaporation systems, often in temperature and humidity-controlled environments.

In addition to technical preparation, the technician participates in aroma evaluation panels and records feedback on scent intensity, clarity, and acceptability. They clean and calibrate laboratory instruments, maintain inventory of aromatic raw materials, and assist in creating new blends under the direction of senior technologists. Safety and contamination control are critical, especially when handling volatile or allergenic substances.

The role may involve small-scale production runs or pilot batch testing, requiring agility and a focus on detail. Aroma Technicians must uphold high standards of cleanliness, documentation, and teamwork.

Job Requirement:

Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in chemistry, food science, or a related field. Experience in aroma formulation, fragrance blending, or laboratory-based flavor work is preferred. The role requires keen sensory perception, familiarity with lab safety protocols, and the ability to precisely follow formulation instructions. A background in analytical tools and cleanroom practices is beneficial. Reliability and creativity are key attributes.
