Job Description:

The Back-of-House (BOH) Manager in Dubai plays a critical role in the efficient and hygienic operation of a restaurant or hospitality establishment by overseeing kitchen and storage activities. This position is responsible for ensuring that food preparation, storage, equipment maintenance, inventory, and sanitation standards are upheld to support seamless front-of-house service. The BOH Manager supervises kitchen staff, dishwashers, and storeroom attendants while implementing food safety protocols and optimizing kitchen workflows. Duties include scheduling shifts, coordinating with the Executive Chef or Kitchen Head, ensuring that supplies are adequately stocked, and that kitchen equipment is functional and regularly maintained. This role also involves managing receiving procedures, verifying vendor deliveries, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in line with Dubai Municipality guidelines. The BOH Manager maintains accurate records of food and supply inventory, monitors waste reduction, and supports cost-control strategies. Working closely with purchasing and front-of-house teams, this manager helps ensure consistent product quality and timely kitchen output. A strong emphasis is placed on leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to operate efficiently during peak hours. This is a vital role that helps maintain overall kitchen discipline and supports the culinary team’s output in high-demand hospitality settings.

Job Requirement:

Candidates must hold a diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field, along with 5–7 years of experience in kitchen or back-of-house operations, including 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Solid knowledge of food safety, inventory control, and kitchen logistics is essential. Applicants should demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills, the ability to work in fast-paced environments, and experience with commercial kitchen equipment. Proficiency in English is required, and familiarity with Arabic is a plus. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is expected. Certification in food safety and hygiene is mandatory.
