Job Description:

The Bakery Specialist in Abu Dhabi is tasked with overseeing the preparation and production of baked goods such as bread, rolls, pastries, and specialty baked items in a bakery or commercial kitchen environment. The role involves working with both traditional and industrial baking equipment to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to recipes. Responsibilities include scaling and mixing dough, managing proofing and fermentation processes, baking items at correct temperatures, and ensuring the visual appeal of finished goods. The Bakery Specialist monitors ingredient quality, performs routine equipment maintenance, and upholds strict hygiene standards. They may also participate in developing new recipes, seasonal specialties, or health-conscious alternatives such as gluten-free or wholegrain options. Inventory control, cost management, and coordination with the purchasing department for ingredient procurement are also part of the role. In a leadership capacity, the Bakery Specialist may supervise assistant bakers, manage schedules, and train junior staff on baking methods and food safety compliance. The role demands early morning or night shifts and the physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy baking trays or ingredient sacks.

Job Requirement:

Applicants must have a formal qualification in Baking and Pastry Arts or equivalent, along with at least 3 years of experience in artisanal or commercial baking. Proficiency in using dough mixers, proofers, ovens, and lamination machines is essential. Knowledge of food safety guidelines, attention to detail, and strong time management are required. The ideal candidate should have a passion for baking, creativity in flavor and presentation, and the ability to work independently or lead a small team. Fluency in English and previous experience in a hotel or bakery chain is advantageous.
