Job Description:
The Bacteriology Specialist in Dubai is responsible for studying bacterial organisms to understand their characteristics, interactions, and impact on human health, industry, and the environment. This role involves isolating and identifying bacterial strains, conducting antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and investigating the mechanisms of resistance, virulence, and transmission. The specialist works in both clinical and research settings, supporting diagnostic testing, infection control strategies, and the development of new antimicrobial therapies or vaccines.
The Bacteriology Specialist designs and conducts experiments, collects and analyzes data, and uses tools such as PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and culture-based techniques to evaluate bacterial behavior. Collaboration with healthcare professionals, public health agencies, and pharmaceutical researchers is a key component of the role. The specialist will also participate in outbreak investigations, support epidemiological surveillance, and ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory quality standards (ISO, WHO, CAP). Responsibilities include technical reporting, publishing research findings, and mentoring junior lab personnel.
Job Requirement:
A master’s or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Bacteriology, or Biomedical Sciences is essential, along with 4–6 years of laboratory or research experience in bacteriology. Candidates should possess hands-on experience with microbial culture, antibiotic resistance testing, and molecular diagnostic tools. Familiarity with biosafety protocols, infection control measures, and scientific documentation practices is necessary. Strong analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are critical to succeed in this role.
