Job Description:
The Biomaterials Engineer in Dubai designs, develops, and evaluates materials used in medical devices, implants, tissue scaffolds, and drug delivery systems. This role combines principles from materials science, biology, and engineering to create innovative materials that interact safely and effectively with biological systems.
Key responsibilities include selecting and synthesizing biocompatible materials (e.g., polymers, ceramics, composites), conducting mechanical and chemical characterization tests, and optimizing fabrication techniques such as 3D printing, electrospinning, and surface modification. The engineer also collaborates with clinicians and R&D teams to assess material performance in preclinical settings. Regulatory documentation, risk assessments, and support for product commercialization are also part of the role. Ensuring compliance with ISO 10993 and FDA/EMA biocompatibility standards is crucial.
Job Requirement:
A degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is required; a postgraduate qualification is preferred. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in biomaterials development or medical device design. Experience with materials testing, CAD software, and laboratory instrumentation (e.g., SEM, FTIR, tensile testers) is essential. Strong understanding of biocompatibility, sterilization processes, and regulatory frameworks is required. Innovation, precision, and teamwork are key success factors for this role.
