Job Description:
The Brain Research Scientist in Al Ain will lead scientific investigations focused on understanding brain function, structure, and neurological disorders. The role entails conducting advanced research in neurobiology, cognitive function, neural networks, and brain-behavior relationships. This includes planning and executing laboratory or clinical studies using imaging techniques such as MRI, fMRI, PET scans, EEG, or electrophysiology, alongside molecular or genetic approaches. The scientist will analyze neurological data, publish findings in scientific journals, and contribute to breakthroughs in understanding diseases like Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and brain injuries.
Responsibilities also involve collaborating with academic institutions, neurology departments, and cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative therapeutic or diagnostic solutions. The Brain Research Scientist will ensure all studies adhere to ethical standards, prepare grant proposals, and present research at scientific conferences. The position may also involve mentoring junior researchers or interns, supervising lab activities, and participating in international brain initiatives or consortia.
Job Requirement:
A Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Psychology, or a related field is required, along with 4–7 years of research experience in brain or cognitive science. Candidates should have proficiency in neuroimaging techniques, data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, SPSS, BrainVoyager), and laboratory protocols related to neuroscience. Strong publication history, knowledge of research ethics, and excellent scientific writing and presentation skills are essential. A collaborative mindset and ability to work across disciplines are also important.
