Job Description: Summary: A Pharmacy Technician in the science and pharmaceutical industry assists pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing patient care, and maintaining pharmacy inventory. They play a crucial role in ensuring accurate medication distribution and promoting patient safety. Key Responsibilities: Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, including counting, measuring, and labeling medication containers. Prepare sterile medications, such as IV solutions and ointments, following aseptic techniques and proper compounding procedures. Maintain and update pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies. Handle customer inquiries and provide accurate information about medications, dosages, and potential side effects. Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure prescriptions are accurately filled and verify the correct medication and dosage. Process insurance claims and assist in managing billing and reimbursement processes. Assist in the management of over-the-counter medication sales, including proper storage and expiration date monitoring. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the pharmacy counter and storage areas. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with regulatory requirements and safety guidelines. Keep abreast of new medications, pharmaceutical products, and industry trends.

Job Requirement: Requirements: Diploma or certification in Pharmacy Technology or a related field. Valid Pharmacy Technician license or registration from a recognized regulatory body. Knowledge of pharmacy practices and procedures, including medication dispensing and compounding. Familiarity with pharmaceutical calculations and dosage forms. Proficient in using pharmacy software and computer systems. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and healthcare professionals. Attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and record-keeping. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Knowledge of pharmacy inventory management and medication storage requirements. Understanding of patient confidentiality and adherence to privacy laws and regulations. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Willingness to stay updated on industry developments and continuing education requirements.
