Job Description:

The Agricultural Field Worker supports day-to-day farming operations in and around Vancouver, helping to ensure the successful cultivation and harvesting of crops. Working under the supervision of farm managers, the field worker performs physically demanding tasks such as soil preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation, pest control, and crop monitoring. During harvest seasons, workers are responsible for gathering produce, sorting for quality, and preparing crops for transport and storage.

Field workers operate basic agricultural tools and equipment, help maintain irrigation systems, and may assist with greenhouse work or packaging. The job often involves early morning starts, long hours outdoors, and working in various weather conditions, including rain or heat.

This position is essential to local food production and sustainability efforts and provides a meaningful opportunity for individuals interested in agriculture or rural labor. On-the-job training is generally provided.

Experience: Farming or outdoor labor experience is an asset but not mandatory.

Skills:

Stamina to work long shifts standing, bending, and lifting.

Attention to detail in identifying plant health and product quality.

Team-oriented with the ability to follow instructions precisely.

Language: Basic English communication skills required for safety and task coordination.

Other Requirements:

Willingness to work in remote or rural areas and adapt to farm schedules.

Ability to handle exposure to chemicals and allergens under safe protocols.

Must adhere to all safety guidelines and use PPE when necessary.

Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours during peak seasons.
