Job Description:
The Building Watchman is responsible for monitoring and securing residential, commercial, or industrial buildings in Edmonton. This role involves patrolling premises, observing and reporting any suspicious activities, and ensuring the safety of property and occupants during assigned shifts.
Key duties include performing routine inspections of buildings and grounds, controlling access by verifying identification or logging visitors, responding to alarms or emergencies, and coordinating with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. The watchman may also assist with basic maintenance tasks and ensure fire safety equipment is functional.
This position requires vigilance, reliability, and good communication skills. The Building Watchman plays a critical role in preventing theft, vandalism, and accidents, contributing to overall safety and security.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Previous security, monitoring, or related experience is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong observational and reporting abilities.
Basic knowledge of security procedures and emergency response.
Ability to work independently and remain alert.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with security technology (CCTV, alarms) is beneficial.
Language: Basic English proficiency required.
