Job Description:
The Outdoor Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas in parks, institutions, commercial properties, and residential complexes throughout Quebec City. Reporting to a site manager or facilities supervisor, the groundskeeper performs tasks such as lawn mowing, hedge trimming, tree pruning, debris and litter removal, garden maintenance, and sidewalk sweeping. In colder months, the role may include shoveling snow, applying ice melt, and clearing access routes.
The role involves the use of hand tools, light machinery, and safety equipment. Groundskeepers are expected to ensure that outdoor spaces are well-groomed, safe, and inviting for public or private use. Work is predominantly outdoors and may involve physically demanding tasks across changing weather conditions.

Job Requirement:
Education: No specific education required; landscaping or groundskeeping training is an asset.
Experience: Prior grounds maintenance experience is helpful but not necessary.
Skills:
Proficient in using lawn care and gardening tools.
Physically fit and able to perform repetitive, outdoor tasks.
Familiar with seasonal care of plants and trees.
Capable of working independently and following instructions.
Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
Language: Basic communication skills in English or French.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Able to lift up to 25 kg (approx. 55 lbs).
Reliable attendance and time management.
Proper use of PPE and awareness of outdoor safety practices.
