Job Description:
The Plastic Extrusion Technician in Vancouver is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plastic extrusion machinery used to produce a wide range of plastic products such as tubing, sheets, profiles, and films. This role plays a key part in ensuring the continuous, high-quality production of plastic materials for industries like construction, packaging, and automotive.
Primary responsibilities include preparing and loading raw plastic materials into extruders, adjusting machine settings for temperature, speed, and pressure, monitoring the extrusion process, and inspecting finished products for compliance with dimensional and quality specifications. The technician also performs routine maintenance, troubleshoots equipment issues, and ensures all safety protocols and production standards are followed.
Working closely with quality assurance teams and production supervisors, the technician helps minimize waste, reduce downtime, and optimize material usage. Attention to detail, technical understanding, and problem-solving skills are essential for maintaining product consistency and operational efficiency.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plastic processing or mechanical systems is preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience operating extrusion or similar manufacturing machinery is highly desirable.
Skills:
Understanding of extrusion machinery and plastic materials.
Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and measurement tools.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and adjustment skills.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards.
Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Language: Basic English proficiency for reading instructions and communicating with team members.
