Job Description:
We are looking for a Core Sample Drilling Technician to join our mineral exploration and mining projects in Munich. The technician will be responsible for operating drilling rigs designed to extract core samples from underground or surface sites, which are essential for geological analysis and resource evaluation.
The role involves setting up drilling equipment, precisely drilling boreholes to required depths, and retrieving intact core samples for laboratory testing. The technician must ensure drilling parameters are optimized to preserve core integrity and avoid contamination.
Daily responsibilities include conducting routine maintenance on drilling machinery, recording drilling data accurately, and collaborating with geologists to adjust drilling strategies based on subsurface conditions. The technician also ensures strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on-site.
This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in varied and sometimes challenging environments.
Job Requirement:
Candidates should have technical education or certification in mining, geology, or drilling technology. A minimum of 2–3 years experience in core sample drilling or mineral exploration drilling is required.
Applicants must be familiar with core drilling equipment operation, core handling procedures, and basic geological sampling techniques. Proficiency in maintaining drilling rigs, performing routine repairs, and logging drilling data is essential.
Physical endurance to work in outdoor or underground settings, often in remote areas, is necessary. Strong communication skills and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
Fluency in German is required for effective coordination and safety compliance. Basic English is an advantage for interpreting technical documents and communicating with multidisciplinary teams. Certifications in drilling safety and equipment operation are preferred.
