The Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain software applications tailored for the Agriculture & Fisheries industry, focusing on enhancing productivity, sustainability, and automation. Based in Florence, the role involves creating user-friendly applications that support farm management, aquaculture monitoring, and resource optimization.
Responsibilities include developing mobile and web applications that integrate with IoT devices and sensor networks used in precision farming and fisheries management. The developer will collaborate closely with system engineers, data scientists, and agronomists to translate field requirements into efficient software solutions. Ensuring software reliability, scalability, and performance in outdoor and variable environmental conditions is critical.
The position requires involvement in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Experience with cloud services, database management, and API integration is essential to facilitate data flow between field devices and management platforms.
Candidates should hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript. Familiarity with frameworks like React, Angular, or Flutter and experience with agricultural or environmental software solutions is a plus.
