Job Description:
The Automation and Controls Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automated control systems that enhance efficiency and sustainability in the Agriculture & Fisheries sector in Florence. This role involves developing solutions for automated irrigation, aquaculture systems, greenhouse climate control, and food processing operations.
Key responsibilities include programming PLCs, configuring SCADA systems, and integrating sensors and actuators to monitor and control various processes. The engineer will analyze system performance, troubleshoot faults, and optimize control strategies to improve productivity and reduce resource consumption.
Collaboration with agronomists, environmental specialists, mechanical engineers, and IT teams is essential to tailor automation systems to specific operational needs. The engineer will ensure compliance with Italian and European safety and environmental regulations.
Candidates should hold a degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, with experience in industrial automation and control within agriculture, fisheries, or similar sectors. Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), SCADA configuration, and industrial networks is required.
